Hollybank Forest Reserve...
While the forests at Hollybank have long been popular for picnics, barbecues
and short walks, Hollybank also has a new and different walk called the Walk
of Change. This 30-minute stroll passes through three different types of forest.
Signs along the way will both amuse and inform you as you explore this forest.
Hollybank is still an ideal venue on a summer's afternoon. A large recreational
area, with plenty of shade from the sun, it provides an ideal site for a family
day out.
As a multiple use forest site, Hollybank is currently midway through a harvesting
program. During your visit, you can appreciate this site for its education
and recreational values, but also for the benefit it provides as a training
facility for those new to the forest industry.
To get to Hollybank, drive about 30 minutes North-East of Launceston, taking
the Northern outlet (A8) to Rocherlea. Turn right at the Rocherlea Tavern
and travel along the Lilydale Road (B81). The Reserve entrance is well signposted.
